Year 13 visit to watch The Tempest

On Thursday 12th January, year 13 Theatre Studies students travelled to Stratford Upon Avon to see William Shakespeare's "The Tempest". The production was devised and produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company in conjunction with Intel.

This collaboration resulted in an ethereal and technologically spellbinding experience which included actors appearing via holograms, hounds charging on the face of drums and a very stormy shipwreck! We also got to participate in some immersive theatre before and after the play; we explored a recreation of Prospero's island set in the 1990s and Miss Milns directed a virtual storm using some motion capture technology!

Year 13 students will use the production to answer a question on their written A-Level exam paper in June 2017. We had a wonderful day learning about, and experiencing, a range of dynamic and ambitious theatre.
