Pensby High School Sixth Form is celebrating success in the recent A level results. Overall headline figures are showing continued high outcomes in both A level and vocational qualifications. We are currently out performing some of our other local 6th form providers.
We are delighted to see that an increasing number of students are choosing to access Higher Education and in particular secure places at top Russell Group Universities
Congratulations to all our students. Whilst it is difficult to single out individual students, as we are proud of all our students, there has been some particularly outstanding attainment.
Elizabeth Ball achieved A levels in History A*, Geography A, Chemistry A* and will study Liberal Arts at Durham.
Sarah-Jane Hounsley achieved Chemistry B, Biology B, Geography A, and a 90-credit Diploma in Business graded Distinction* Distinction*and will study Pharmacology at Leeds.
Elena Davies achieved A levels in Biology A, Psychology A, and Chemistry B grade and has decided to take a year off from study.
We have enjoyed particular success in our vocational qualifications. The following students have achieved the highest grades possible; Distinction* and Distinctions which are equivalent to grade A at level 3.
Oliver Courtney gained a Subsidiary Diploma - Health & Social Care Distinction*, Diploma- Business Distinction* & Distinction and will now study Nursing at Sheffield Hallam.
Cameron Rattray achieved a Subsidiary Diploma - IT Distinction* and a Diploma in Business Distinction* & Distinction* and will be studying Adventure Sports at Reaseheath College
William Manifold gained a Subsidiary Diploma - Public Services Distinction, Subsidiary Diploma – IT Distinction and a Subsidiary Diploma – Business Distinction* and will go onto Liverpool John Moores to study Public Relations.
Theodore Tollitt Diploma – Business Distinction*& Distinction and a Subsidiary Diploma - Public Services Distinction* and has secured an apprenticeship with Aldi.
Benjamin Cox Subsidiary Diploma – IT Distinction*, and a Diploma - Business Distinction* & Distinction and is in employment.
Phoebe Spradbery has demonstrated outstanding achievement to gain A levels in Spanish C, Art & Design D and Drama & Theatre Studies C and will now study Spanish & Chinese at the University of Chester. Also Danny Crompton who gained a Subsidiary Diploma - Public Services Merit and a Diploma – Business at Merit & Merit. He has secured a traineeship with Sisco.
Following on from their many successes at Pensby, we are proud to see our Year 13 leavers are moving onto a wide variety of exciting and challenging opportunities. It is encouraging to see that these students have chosen to pursue valuable routes, be they academic, vocational or employment and we wish them every success in the future.
